our history

The implementation of a project, a new architecture that takes shape for Nessi & Majocchi SpA, each new construction is a long-lasting value.
Nessi & Majocchi Spa sees each construction as the result of leading technological expertise and a creative partnership with designers and customers.

An entrepreneurial reality inspired by the tradition of expertise strongly rooted to the Lake Como Region, its culture and its values.

At the beginning of the last century, on the June 30th, 1926, Veneanzio Nessi and Angelo Majocchi founded our Company. It was the first step of an entrepreneurial adventure destined to be developed over almost a century of history of its works.

After the first experiences, among which stands out the construction of the Monument to the Fallen, a project of the well-known Architect Giuseppe Terragni, the Company leaves the exclusively local market, and faces new construction sites outside the provincial borders, with important works in South Tyrol and Merano.

The Eighties saw the Nessi & Majocchi Construction Company mainly involved in the tertiary construction with the realization of the International Exhibition Centre of Villa Erba in Cernobbio, in the banking and residential sector and in that of social housing. The Twenty-first Century has been characterized by an intense activity in the developments of many Shopping Centers for the Bennet Group, for OBI, Eurospin and Lombardini.  In 2013 the Company obtained in ATI the contract for the construction of seven tower buildings in the Cascina Merlata village in Milan. Initially, these buildings were used as accomodations for the foreign delegations at Expo 2015, for whom N&M worked for the realisation of the Angola Republic Pavillon. Later, they were repurposed for social housing, becoming the largest subsidized residential development in Italy.

Moreover, in the area of Cascina Merlata, ATI has developed the first smart district in Italy, named UPTOWN, which counts 137 units spread across an eighteen-story tower building and a ten-story building. In the residential field, in 2015 Nessi & Majocchi completed the Porto Fluviale complex in Rome, a residential building counting 214 apartments and 266 parking spots. In 2023 the Torre Milano construction site has been completed, an 80-meter-tall skyscraper with 23 floors above ground, designed by Studio Beretta Associati.

Throughout the years, the Company has and continues to work on the renovation of several and prestigious villas on Lake Como, mainly for private owners, as well as on the realization of a new innovative residential building called Como Lake Resort in Laglio. The Company has specialized in the hospitality sector. On Lake Como, it has completed projects such as the Sheraton Lake Como Hotel, the Boutique Hotel Filario, the Hilton Lake Como, and the Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio. In 2022 the Hotel Passalacqua in Moltrasio has been completed, winning the prize for best hotel in the world in 2023. Furthermore, the Company has carried out several renovations for the Terminus, Villa Flori, and Posta Hotels of the Passera Group, as well as the modernization of the Hotel Barchetta and Palace Hotel in Como, managed by the Grand Hotel Villa D'Este. Outside of the Como area, N&M has managed the construction of the Grand Hotel Courmayeur Mont Blanc, the Hotel ME Milan il Duca, and a 4-stars hotel in the new mountain resort San Domenico di Varzo. Currently, the construction of the Hotel Splendido in Portofino for the Belmond group is underway, as well as the Hotel Edition in Cadenabbia for the Kryalos group.

Among the numerous projects stand out the works for Symbiosis - Committente Sviluppo Ripamonti S.r.l., the new Fastweb headquarters, a project developed by Covivio, based on a master plan by the architecture firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. Additionally, the Company completed the renovation of a building designated for office and retail use in the heart of the city for Savills Investment Management SGR S.p.A. And, on behalf of Milanofiori Sviluppo S.r.l., it constructed two office buildings designed by Park Associati and GBPA Architects respectively, covering a total area of approximately 42,000 square meters. Among the most recent projects under development are prestigious works for the Municipality of Milan, such as the BIM Project in Viale Piero e Albero Pirelli 10, the new and innovative Moncler headquarters in Milan, designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Nervesa 21.
